About Me
Overview
Hi, I’m Paige. I created this little e-zine for crazy pet people like me! I’ve loved animals since before I would walk or talk, much to my parents dismay as I would carry a new stray cat, or dog, or gerbil, or rabbit, or bird into the house every week.
Growing up, I started volunteering at a local animal clinic and followed the veterinarian around every Saturday morning asking question after question until she started pulling her hair out. I began working part-time when I was 16 and eventually became a full-time Head Technician and participated in helping and fostering for dozens of rescues organizations. I became certified in several areas of companion animal health study to further my skills as a tech, and continue to soak up as much information as I can.
I have four pets - A dog, two cats, and a boyfriend. Just kidding, baby!

Chloe is a 9 year old poodle mix, she enjoys barking, tennis balls, barking, demanding belly rubs, barking, and barking. She is neurotic and OCD but we love her anyways. She takes her job as “house protector” and “notifier of any activity outside including leaves falling and cars driving by” very seriously. She is my shadow, and as long as I’m home she will find a spot within 10 feet of whatever I’m doing to curl up and keep an eye on things for me.

Dexter is an 8 year old generic tabby with a cute white spot on his nose. He was quite the hooligan in his younger years, he enjoyed stealing sandwiches and pooping on people. These days, the old man is content to spend his days on the couch or the closest lap. He’s very affectionate and will tell you he really loves you with an occasional direct view of his butt.

Amelie is a 4 year old solid black little girl. She came to me with her siblings as a completely feral 6 week old kitten who was scared of her own shadow, the most timid of the whole litter. She hid in my bathroom for several hours before deciding to check out the new digs. She abruptly decided to accept me as a Decent Human Being and nonchalantly wandered over to me and placed her paw on my face. We’ve been best buds ever since. She is still pretty timid, but crazily affectionate when she decides that you’re a Decent Human Being. She loves heating pads and rubbing her back on the carpet.
We also recently adopted a leopard gecko named Friend. She is still a baby and we’re learning her personality more each day. She entertains us by dramatically stalking her worms before pouncing, and she scares us daily by flattening herself against the floor of the cage to get warm and contorting into odd angles so that we think she’s dead. I imagine she chuckles heartily each time I freak out over her strange positions. I think she’s going to be fun.
